Chef Guy Fieri is looking to put four more Kansas City area barbecue joints on the map tonight. The Kansas City Barbecue Tour episode for his series, "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives," airs at 8 p.m. on the Food Network.
Fieri stopped by Smokin' Guns BBQ in Kansas City, RJ's Bob-Be-Que and Johnny's Hickory House Bar-B-Q in Mission, and Woodyard Bar-B-Que in Kansas City, Kansas, back in April.
Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives focuses on quirky, locally-owned restaurants. The types of places typically featured have never appeared on the Food Network and have a chef-owner with a penchant for inventing recipes.
Johnny's (5959 Broadmoor Street, 913-432-0777) is holding a watch party tonight from 7 to 10 p.m. There will be food and drink specials, along with the pulled pork made by owner Johnny White. One of the recipes also featured in the episode is the burnt end chili from Woodyard. With big chunks of smokey brisket -- it's a recipe that should be tried at home.
The episode airs at 9 p.m. tonight on the Food Network. It will be replayed at midnight and at 8 p.m. tomorrow.

If he wanted the best bbq in KC he should of went to Oklahoma Joe's or Arthur Bryant's
These are all just mediocre bbq
When we tried RJ's we thought the meats were pretty good, but the sauce was awful. It made us want to sneak in OK Joe's sauce. In fact, I think I can fit a bottle in my purse...
Smoken Gun's is the best BBQ in kansas city glad to see that they had the best on frist and the Winner of the World Championship Grand champion 11th annual Jack Daniel's Lynchburg Tennessee. great job Phil
Glad to see the Woodyard getting some props from Guy's. Great food, especially their chicken wings which they gift new customers with! We like RJ's too and think they have some of the best breakfasts in town. I'm especially partial to their burnt ends and eggs combination.
