  • The smoking ban issue flares up at Neighbors.

The city has suspended the liquor license of Neighbors Lounge (9025 East 35th Street) for 10 days because the tavern was found to be in violation of the no-smoking ordinance. Neighbors Lounge will be closed on July 19 and 20. The bar will also be on probation for a year. A second violation of the ordinance would trigger the remaining eight days of the 10-day suspension.

As reported on Plog this morning, customers at Neighbors were observed violating the ban at least seven times. Although a number of bars have been ticketed, Neighbors is just the third to be shut down for violating the ordinance.
