| "Society" met at Pusateri's back in the 1930s |
By the late 1930s or early 1940s, a newer Pusateri's had opened in a freestanding building at 36th and Broadway in the new, exciting hotel district, near the Ambassador and Valentine hotels and within walking distance of the Uptown and Vogue movie theaters. The building pictured on this vintage postcard depicts a dining room that doesn't look nearly as dramatic as the downtown venue. The later building -- unless the facade has been drastically altered -- did not survive into the 21st century.
| The original Pusateri's was a block south of the old Italian Gardens |
