Baseball caps and shrimp in the Crossroads? Where was this place?

No, it wasn't Red Lobster's fried shrimp that Mark remembers.
Fat City reader Mark remembers visiting a restaurant in Kansas City in the mid-1980s. This is his description of the place:

"It featured shrimp of some kind. The setting was very informal with baseball caps hanging from the ceiling..."

Baseball caps hanging from the ceiling? That sounds more like a saloon than a restaurant. But wait -- there's more!

Mark thinks the restaurant was located in the neighborhood that's currently known as the Crossroads. I can promise you that in the mid-1980s, this locale wasn't called the Crossroads or any other glamorous name. It was just "downtown."

He writes, "Am I dreaming? What was the name of this place and where was it?"

I'm stumped. Who's up for solving Mark's mystery?
