Dog Nuvo learns it's a dog-eat-dog-domain world

The battle between Independence lawyer and restaurateur Ken McClain and his former employees -- upscale hot dog vendors Marshall Roth and Harry Blasco of Dog Nuvo -- took an ugly turn earlier today when a restraining order filed by McClain forced Dog Nuvo to close, at least temporarily.

Tempers reached a new boiling point this afternoon when Roth and Blasco discovered that McClain had purchased the domain name for DogNuvo.com and several other variations on that name.

Sure enough, the domain name for DogNuvo.com is registered to McClain Enterprises in Independence, Missouri.

"He registered all kinds of variations on our name," Roth says. "He also registered EatDogNuvo.com and several others. Our art director had to scramble to register EatAtDogNuvo for us."

I would never eat a hot dog from a restaurant owned by a lawyer. They're probably low-grade, and made from medical waste and aborted puppies.
