Clearly, White Castle is in league with the vampires. Why? Because the new garlic cheese sliders are available only until Friday -- one day before Halloween. Pretty sneaky.
Of course, this a moot point for Kansas City. But, just as some people can't help looking up exes on Facebook, some of us KC Cravers can't help checking out the chain's website now and then. Either way, garlic cheese sliders sound kind of nasty.
Sliders should be simple. Steamed patty, onions and pickles, thank you very much. Cheese is optional. Bacon is pushing it. A garlic-cheese mini-burger would be fine, but remember, a mini-burger isn't a slider. Sliders are steamed. If it's not steamed, it's not a slider.
The garlic-cheese-and-chicken-marinara sandwich, however? Slider rules don't apply to tiny fried-chicken sandwiches, and that looks pretty good.
Get yourself to St. Louis post-haste if you want to try them. As for the "like us and get a free garlic cheese slider" offer, it's on White Castle's Facebook page but was supposed to end last Friday, according to a quick search for more details.
