On Monday, we served up an abbreviated but tasty list of local restaurants that were hosting Thanksgiving dinners on November 25th

Today we have a somewhat more filling platter of possibilities ranging from the inexpensive to the sublime. There's something on our list for every budget.

Tomorrow we'll have a list of restaurants that are open on Thanksgiving but not serving turkey. Yes, it's heresy, but in America, there's always a culinary rebel out there.

The Costly

Benton's Prime Steakhouse, Westin Crown Center Hotel, 1 Pershing Road is serving a Thanksgiving Day brunch from 10:30 until 3 p.m. The price for adults is $45 per person. Many afternoon seatings are fully booked, but there are spaces available. Call 816-474-4400 for reservations.

The Capital Grille on the Country Club Plaza -- if you want to put up with the madness of that neighborhood on Thanksgiving Day -- will be serving from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. In addition to the regular menu, the restaurant will offer a traditional Thanksgiving turkey dinner with the bird, dressing and mashed potatoes for $29 per person.

The Better-Than-Home

Julian, 6227 Brookside Plaza, will be open on Thanksgiving day from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and serving a traditional, home-style holiday meal. The menu includes butternut squash soup with maple creme fraiche and sage, brined and roasted turkey breast with mashed potatoes, candied sweet potatoes, stuffing, cranberries and gravy; the dessert will be pumpkin creme brulee. Adult dinners are $30 each, children are $18. Chef-owner Celina Tio said reservations are still available.

Wil Jenny's Table & Tap, 6700 West 135th Street, will serve a Thanksgiving Buffet on the holiday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. featuring fresh salads, peel-and-eat shrimp, herb-roasted turkey, smoked prime rib, beef brisket and pineapple brown sugar pit ham, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, green beans, green chile mac-and-cheese, coen pudding, dinner rolls and a variety of desserts. Adult prices are $21 per person and $12 for children ages 5-12 years old; children under age 5 are charged $4. Call 913-897-1114 for reservations.

The Cheap

The Golden Corral Buffet & Grill, 8800 Northwest Skyview Avenue, will be serving turkey and all its other traditional buffet fare from 10:45 a.m. to 8 p.m. The dinner price for adults is $11.29. Beverages -- non-alcoholic only -- are extra.

Perkins Restaurant & Bakery, 6292 North Oak Trafficway, will be serving from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. The lunch special is an open-faced turkey sandwich with beverage and piece of pie for $9.99. That night's dinner specials include a turkey-and-dressing dinner or ham steak dinner with beverage and pie for $10.99. Tax and gratuity extra.

The Carry-Out

Wil Jenny's Tables & Tap, 6700 West 135th Street in Overland Park is offering a variety of take-out packages for Thanksgiving Dinner. Dangit Charles. If you keep saying nice things about me, I am going to have to go find a new nemesis.

I will be enjoying Thanksgiving with family though. We "savvy self-promoters" sometimes throw these comments out there for the good of others.

....and don't be shy, you can request Reader's Choice winner David's station, if he's working that day.
