Kids say the darnedest things about the industrial food cycle.

Learn what they by going to the Screenland Theater at the Crossroads (1656 Washington) tonight at 7 to watch a free screening of the documentary What's On Your Plate, sponsored by Chipotle.

The 2009 documentary, directed by Catherine Gund, stars her daughter, Sadie, and Sadie's friend Safiyah, two 11-year-olds in New York City who set out on a quest to discover exactly how food ends up on their plates. They talk to producers and food activists in and around the city in order to learn about sustainability and the complex food system in the city.

The screening is free, but if you donate $5 at the door to the Kansas City Center for Urban Agriculture, Chipotle will give you a certificate for a free burrito. If you can't make the screening, the DVD went on sale last month.
