Local pizza favorite d'Bronx is set to open this month in Mission. It assumes the space formerly occupied by a Pizza Shoppe franchise, at 6846 Johnson Drive.
Paper still covers the windows, but the sign went up yesterday, and owner Don Foringer -- who was on site this morning -- says the inspection process should be complete by mid-December.
"We'll start with lunch only, and then open for dinner in January," Foringer says.
There are three chain pizza places in Mission, and the addition of
d'Bronx ushers in an era of two home-growns serving New York-style slices. It joins longtime lunch destination Italian Delight.
