A tasting of Boulevard's Nutcracker
Ale could change your mind. The Hotel Phillips'
is hosting a tasting of the ale from 6 to 8 p.m. today. Those who buy beer get
T-shirts and memorabilia from Boulevard reps. Chef Jason Bowers also
has a number of Boulevard-inspired dishes worth trying.
Get handmade gifts and organic produce at the KC Organics Holiday Market Saturday. Keep an eye out for raw chocolate, pumpkin butter, honey, and winter vegetables. The market is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Notre Dame de Sion High School (10631 Wornall Road).
JP Wine Bar has closed, but it will be co-hosting a wine tasting from 4 to 6 p.m. at the newly opened Cellar & Loft (525 Walnut Street) on Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. The tasting in the River Market will feature "weightier winter whites and reds."
Don't be a grinch this holiday season. Instead, Meet the Grinch
every Saturday through December 18 at the City Market. He's there from
11 a.m. to 2 p.m. as part of the Whoville Holidays. Bring a
nonperishable food item for the "Help a Who" food drive that benefits
Harvesters, and bring your camera to snap a photo with the Grinch.
O'Dowd's Little Dublin (8600 Northwest Prairie Road) has a new menu. There's a six-cheese macaroni and cheese and fried calamari with peppadew peppers and a sweet Thai chili sauce. And The Westside Local has Boulevard's Bourbon Barrel Quad -- the Smokestack series seasonal beer is worth a trip downtown.
