You don't have to be a bimbo (or a himbo) to work for Bimbo Bakeries USA, which holds a job fair tomorrow, January 21, from 9 a.m. to noon and from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Wyandotte County Workforce Center (552 State Avenue in Kansas City, Kansas).

Yesterday, the Kansas City Business Journal reported online

that the job fair was scheduled for today; a Wyandotte County Workforce Center

spokeswoman says weather caused the event's move to tomorrow.

The 40 jobs at the new commercial bakery plant in Topeka are expected to attract hundreds of applicants, and the positions (in production, food safety and maintenance) are reported to have competitive salaries and benefits. Bimbo Bakeries is the largest baking company in the United States and owns the Entenmann's, Oroweat, and Thomas English Muffin brands, among others.

A spokeswoman at the Workforce Center says applicants must bring a

driver's license or state identification card. She pronounced the

employer's name bim-bo, but the correct pronunciation of the company (a division of Mexico-based Grupo Bimbo) is beem-bo.
