It seems like all of Kansas City wants to play in the 5 to 7 inches of snow that we got last night. Our friends over on Plog report that Sporting KC -- formerly and more awesomely known as our soccer team, the Wizards -- were planning a snowball fight with fans. Now Manifesto is getting in on the action.
The Crossroads speakeasy is holding a snow-angel contest this
evening in its back alley. Registration is at 5:30 p.m., and showtime is at 6. The
winner gets a free shot of whiskey, a welcome prize to stave off the harsh effects of flopping around in the snow.
What exactly will judges be looking for? Manifesto's star bartender, Beau Williams, is heading the panel, and he has this to say on our Facebook page:
