Let the countdown to The Drunken Fish (14 E. 14th St.) opening commence. The sushi spot, the fourth for the St. Louis-based restaurant group, opens its doors tonight at 5 p.m. tomorrow at 11 a.m. tonight at 6 p.m. in the Power & Light District. Drunken Fish is in the former space of Bice Bistro, which closed last March.

The sleek, modern lounge concept has found success in St. Louis since its inception seven years ago. How about it, are you excited about the prospect of a new sushi option downtown?

Back in January, Fat City's Charles Ferruzza spoke with Drunken Fish spokesperson Allison Schiller about the new space that, at over 7,000 square feet, is the largest restaurant to date for the restaurant group. True to its name, Drunken Fish will have a strong focus on cocktails with a six-page menu.

"We'll offer happy hour three times a day, every day," Schiller told Ferruzza. "We'll

have food and drink specials each day from 11 a.m. to noon, 5 to 7 p.m.

and 10:30 p.m. until we close. We'll have select menu items at

half-price."

As for the sushi, the rolls feature unusual toppings and elaborate presentations that go beyond the standard sushi menu. The restaurant's namesake roll is composed of shrimp tempura, Japanese mayo, asparagus, red tuna, eel sauce and garlic mayo.

Drunken Fish will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to midnight Monday and Tuesday; 11 a.m. to midnight Wednesday; 11 to 1 a.m. Thursday; and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. Friday. Drunken Fish also is open from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday and 5 to 10 p.m. Sunday. You can make a reservation online or by calling 816.474.7177.

agreed. I do wish they would turn down the super-techno music during happy hour a little though.

Agreed 100%. WTF? Why would a restaurant have such fucked up hours like that? Way to confuse the customers right off the bat, Drunken Fish.

I'd be more excited about a sushi/Japanese "concept" in the Village at 71st and Tomahawk, dammit. WE NEED SUSHI IN PV!

I couldn't care less about the trendy little "concept"; I may try it sometime to see if the food's any good.

But I'm not sure when I'll stop by, because those are officially the most goddamn confusing hours I've ever seen.
