The food at the News Room (3740 Broadway) just got a lot more organic.
The Good You, a mobile food trailer run by chef Kelli Daniels and Kate Szalay, has partnered with the Broadway bar to offer an inside option for their organic eats in a new venture entitled Good News: Good You at the News Room. The late-night menu is served from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Tuesday through Friday. There are five hors d'oeuvres and five main plates.
Under little eats (which range from $3 to $8), there's fried chickpeas, hand-cut fries (with blueberry ketchup), spinach salad, soup du jour or pub chips. The big eats ($6 to $8) include the good mac (Daniel's version of a Big Mac), sweet-potato and red-bean burrito, smoked-chicken gyro (a staple on the Good You mobile menu), sloppy joe and grilled cheese. The food is available for dine-in or carryout.
Today, there's a Groupon offer for Good News. It's $10 for $20 worth of food, and it expires at midnight tonight. The Good You opened for business on December 19 and has been a mainstay
in Westport, dishing out those smoked-chicken gyros and fried-chickpea cakes in an effort to take organic food to the streets. Check out the truck's Twitter feed for a schedule of where the Good You will be and what's on the mobile menu.
Anybody had a chance to sample the fare at Good News?
