There's a new farmers market in town. The Waldo Farmers Market debuted last Wednesday in the parking lot of the Habitat ReStore (303 W. 79th St.).
The market, which runs from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, features plants, spring greens and a lot of Farm to Market specialty breads (sundried tomato, roasted garlic, pumpernickel, walnut, and pretzel rolls).
Also, you can get lettuce, spinach, beets, onions and spring garlic from Bear Creek Farms. Fresh Connect KC brings organic noodles and jams from Heritage Acre Farms. Stony Crest Urban Farm has hanging baskets of vining tomato plants, daylilies and hostas. Nutressant sells vegan and organic soaps, shampoo and personal-care products.
One More Cup is at the market every other week. The Waldo coffee shop plans to be there on May 18. Fresher Than Fresh Snowcones stops by in June.
The market is every Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m. in the parking lot of the Habitat ReStore (303 W. 79th St.).
