We might not have beach weather, but we will be getting lighter fare. A "fresh grill and wine bar" concept, Seasons 52, is coming to the Country Club Plaza.
The restaurant chain based out of Orlando, Florida, will be taking over the former Eddie Bauer space at 325 Nichols Road. Renovations are expected to take a little under a year, and Seasons 52 is targeting a spring 2012 opening. Plans call for a main dining room, piano bar, two private dining rooms, an outdoor patio and a chef's table.
Seasons 52 changes its menu (you guessed it) four times a year, and every item on the menu is under 475 calories. In order to get under that calorie threshold, the desserts, entitled mini indulgences, come in square shot glasses. The restaurant is also known for its flatbreads, soups, salads and seafood.
The Dallas Morning News reviewed Seasons 52 back in December and found a "real hunger for what Seasons 52 is offering: a sophisticated setting,
good wines and food cooked with healthy restraint, all at a very
reasonable price," despite awarding the restaurant two stars.
Seasons 52 is one of the brands owned by Darden Concepts Inc., the parent company that also runs the Olive Garden, Red Lobster and Longhorn Steakhouse chains. There are currently 17 other Seasons 52 nationwide, with an additional six (including the Plaza location) expected to open in the next year.
