Bonner Springs lost a charming little restaurant this month: Madame Hatter's Tea Room, where owner Bonnie Freeland served tea and tasty lunches and desserts on pretty patterned china. Fat City reported that the restaurant was closing on June 15, noting that Freeland planned to sell nearly everything in the building this week.

According to the Eudora Examiner, the sale started on Tuesday; it continues through Saturday. We decided to check in with Freeland today to see if there's anything left to buy.

"Oh, yes," Freeland says. "We've got so much stuff here. I've sold some of the bigger things, like my convection oven and the refrigerator. But we've got lots of teapots and teacups, a lot of decorative things, lots of fancy hats and gloves, some tables and chairs."

The sale runs tomorrow and Saturday at 228 Oak in downtown Bonner Springs. Sale hours are from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
