If you were kicking yourself for missing The Food Network cameras at Extra Virgin earlier this month, you've got a shot at redemption tomorrow. The lights and action return to chef Michael Smith's restaurant, which will be featured on the Cooking Channel show, "The United Tastes of America," with host Jeffrey Saad.

"Things are very busy for sure," Smith says. "But we are having a lot of fun and encouraging our patrons to have some, also."

The crew will be filming during Extra Virgin's lunch hour -- your best bet to get on camera is between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. And in order to encourage people to come, Extra Virgin is offering a $1 sangria.

"If people would like to get a behind-the-scenes look at a TV crew in action, they can stop by for lunch and get a glimpse of how that all works," says general manager Nancy Smith. "If folks end up playing a little hooky, they can enjoy a Friday afternoon sangria, too."

Back on June 1, chef Curtis Stone was at Extra Virgin extolling the virtues of Smith's duck-tongue tacos for a future episode of "The Best Thing I Ever Ate." Chef Smith is also holding an 11 a.m. cooking demonstration at the opening of the Le Creuset store (4549 W. 119th St.) in Leawood at the One Nineteen Shops on Saturday, June 25. The cookware store's grand opening is tomorrow.
