Talk of the Town coming to Leawood

Talk of the Town is, well, hoping to become the talk of the town in Leawood.

The Kansas City Business Journal reports that the Overland Park bar and grill will be opening a second location this fall in the former Ted's Montana Grill space (5201 W. 135th St.) at 135th Street and Nall in Leawood.

A neighborhood bar, the Overland Park location (111922 W. 119th St.) can get crowded on game day and might be best-known for its burgers -- the Black & Bleu has Cajun spices and blue-cheese crumbles while the Go Easy burger is topped with a fried egg and jack cheese. One of the big attractions of the Talk of the Town is that its kitchen stays open late, until midnight, seven days a week.

The new Leawood location has a tentative opening date of September, according to the KCBJ story. Like the Overland Park bar and grill, it will have a patio and what I would expect to be a decent beer selection on tap. The Leawood spot has a nice collection of Boulevard, New Belgium, Free State and Goose Island.

Talk of the Town at 119th and Quivira in Overland Park is open from 11 to 2 a.m. Monday through Friday and from 9 to 2 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
