This is the second water hole to shut its doors at Zona Rosa in the last six months, Tomfooleries Restaurant & Bar closed July 31.
Since its shuttering, Tomfooleries has been memorialized on Facebook, and O'Dowd's page is filled with comments from surprised fans. The original O'Dowd's, which opened on the Country Club Plaza (4742 Pennsylvania) in 1996, is still open (as is the original Tomfooleries at 612 W. 47th St.). The Plaza location of the Irish pub is open from Sunday through Wednesday, 11 a.m. to 1:30 a.m., and Thursday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3 a.m.
The Plaza's sister restaurant was known as much for its rooftop deck as its fish and chips. So this week, pour a little out on the ground for one of the best patios north of the river. Will you miss O'Dowd's in Zona Rosa?
