Coffee talk and 'cue talk at the KC Library this week

Linda Richman isn't in town, but you can still get your coffee talk on, courtesy of a pair of food-related conversations sponsored by the Kansas City Public Library this week. The first features Danny O'Neill talking about his coffee company, the Roasterie, tomorrow at the Plaza Branch (4801 Main). The Roasterie is providing a continental breakfast at 7:30 a.m., while the talk begins at 8 a.m. You can RSVP here.

The second features Ollie Gates, the founder of Gates Bar-B-Q, at the Central Branch (14 W. 10th St.) of the Kansas City Public Library on Wednesday. As part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, Gates will be talking about the restaurant’s history since it opened in 1946. The reception starts at 6 p.m. The program begins at 6:30 p.m. You can RSVP here.
