Perhaps Robert Pattinson will finally come to KC now.

We might as well start referring to Kansas City as Boston West because we're getting a plethora of Dunkin' Donuts. A new location opened in Lawrence at 521 W. 23rd St. on Monday, and next Tuesday, November 22, Kansas City, Missouri, gets its first location.

The new doughnut shop opens at 10143 Wornall at 5 a.m. If you bring a canned good or cash donation for Harvesters November 22-27, you can receive a free travel mug and coupon good for a medium coffee (while supplies last).

The Wornall location is owned by developer Verona Key LLC, which currently operates two shops in Overland Park (7722 W. 151st and 7446 Metcalf). Those locations will also be accepting canned goods for Harvesters from next Tuesday through Sunday. Area development plans call for at least 15 locations in the Greater Kansas City area.

According to the press release from Verona Key, two radio stations will be broadcasting from the new shop. KCJK 105.1 will be there from 7 to 9 a.m., and KCFX 101.1 will be live from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The newest Dunkin' Donuts will be open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.

Whatta bunch of whiners. The Pitch actually does a fine job of reporting new restaurants and bars opening. Really not a big deal they bothered to mention a new donut shop.

And for the record the cake donuts at Donut King are uh-mazing.

As far as KC donuts are concerned, all must bow before the Donut King. Nevertheless, I'd rather have a Dunkin' open up anywhere than another godforsaken "cash for gold" shop.

Too bad John's Space Age didnt open there. After you have them, you just cannot go back.

That place is over rated. I hate the weak ass coffee from Dunkin Donuts.

I actually like the reports on openings, be they fast food, fine dining, whatever.

That said, I don't get understand the appeal of DD at all. Their donuts are below average, and for crissakes the coffee BLOWS. It's no better than what McDonald's and Quiktrip serve.

Why are they so afraid of the city. Good Jesus put one in Midtown/Downtown...or even Waldo

I'll defend Jonathan, he and I have both lived in Boston. Their donuts are good (though no John's Space Age) and they have great coffee. And, I like to know every time something new opens

Lamar's is only a few blocks from there. I'll stick the best donuts in town!

I have to agree with Abe and ciaotime. I understand the reports about new places opening up, but how about if someone tells us whether the rumors about a new Oklahoma Joe's going into the old TGIFriday's spot on Roe (by Town Center) are true? And if so, WHEN?

Just one suggestion, anyway. ;)

When did this blog become known as Dunkin City? Their food, donuts and coffee sucks. Please talk more about real food and less about fast food comings and goings.
