There are not many men who can make a pot of gumbo and play slide guitar onstage. But Bill Wharton, aka the Sauce Boss, is just that man. He'll be onstage at Knuckleheads Saloon tonight at 8 p.m. with a rider that has to be seen to be believed: a 12-gallon cast-aluminum pot, 100 plastic spoons, 1 gallon of chicken stock, 4 pounds of okra, and 3 pounds of crawfish tails, among other things. Tickets cost $12 in advance or $15 at the door.
Have you ever said that the only way you're going to Twilight is if you get a steak dinner? Well, Ruth's Chris is calling your bluff Sunday night. For $60.95, Ruth's Chris on the Plaza (700 West 47th Street, Suite 115 ) is offering a three-course meal, Twilight cocktail, and two glasses of beer or wine. After dinner, you can then head over to Cinemark on the Plaza to watch Twilight — Breaking Dawn. RSVPs are required. You can call 816-531-4800.
Need a break from holiday shopping? Check out the tea service at Bluestem (900 Westport Road) on Saturday — there's still space available. The tea service is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and includes finger sandwiches, pastries and tea. It's $25 per person, and reservations are required. Call 816-561-1101 to reserve a spot.
