I have, on occasion, snuck a beer inside a movie theater in order to replicate the home-couch experience. But as Tony's Kansas City noted earlier this week — I might not have to do that at the AMC Theaters Ward Parkway 14, which filed an application with Regulated Industries for a full liquor license.
Is a beer and a movie a proper night out for you? Do you want booze at the movie theater?

I'm fine with people imbibing responsibly, no matter where it takes place. The park, the theater, church...whatever.
But how the hell are they going to monitor this? Seems like it might be awfully easy for minors to get their hands on alcohol in a case like this. :/
AMC is doing this to prevent the inevitable flock of 'urban youths' that will crowd the theater this summer after Plaza Cinemark closes down.
Liberty Hall (adjacent to Free State Brewery) in Lawrence sells Free State beer for your enjoyment at movies.
I believe the question shouldn't be, "Do you want booze at the movie theater?" but rather, "How much booze should you drink at the movie theater?" This often depends on the movie and who you are seeing it with. Sneaking in a bottle of Captain Morgan to the midnight showing of Snakes On A Plane was probably one of my finest ideas.
I suggest you ask do you want to see a movie with people who will gladly pay $8 for a Bud Light?
Have you not been to the AMC Mainstreet? They have had booze for a long time now. Also, if you can't sit through a movie without a drink of alcohol, you MIGHT have a problem.
