Let's be honest. Any place with cold beer and a bar stool can be the best beer bar in America on a given night. But Draft Magazine has attempted to suss out those bars that are serving up proper suds every night. The result is their list of 'America's 100 Best Beer Bars,' which includes the Foundry from Kansas City for the second year in a row.

Draft has a small blurb about each of its selections and describes the Foundry thusly:

A handful of house-made session brews joins a who’s-who list of global artisan beers; they show up in pints as well as flights and quirky beer cocktails. The clean, retro-modern-styled setting makes a nice departure from the beer-signed and Belgian-inspired haunts you’re used to.

Those house-made session brews are the handiwork of brewer Keith Thompson, who was recently featured on Fat City in a trio of interviews. If you're up for a road trip: Bridge and the International Tap House in St. Louis. Where's your favorite beer bar in Kansas City?

When you consider atmosphere, food, and beer, my all-around favorite is the Foundry. Flying Saucer, Waldo Pizza, & Swagger are all good choices as well. I've heard great things about Martin City BrewCo, but haven't made it that far south yet. Soon...
