Taco Bell won't go it alone when it comes to breakfast. The chain has enlisted the help of Johnsonville, Cinnabon and Seattle's Best to provide sausages, Cinnabon Delights (the frosting is on the inside) and coffee, respectively. FirstMeal will consist of burritos, wraps, inside-out cinnamon rolls (picture above) hash browns and coffee drinks. The new menu rolls out in 10 states (Missouri and Kansas are not among the initial test markets) with a possible nationwide launch by 2014.
More important than the existence of the grande skillet burrito may be what this move signifies. The last obstacle to us letting ourselves truly go was the potential that we would have to walk from Taco Bell to Cinnabon to get both options on our food-court tray. With the wall coming down between cinnamon rolls and Gorditas, it's time we yielded to our dual masters of sugar and fat. So let us say with one voice, "We're here and we're hungry," while we can still fit through the doors of our homes.
