The Internet has been aflutter with the news that Sprinkles is putting in a 24-hour "cupcake ATM," in Los Angeles. Whether the cake dispenser comes to pass, the possibilities of a food ATM are intriguing. This might be the evolution of vending machines or the devolution (I'm thinking about the lobsters doomed to sit inside a big choice style crane game in a Boston bar). Since the automat isn't opening its doors anytime soon, we'll have to think differently. What food would you want available via a 24-hour ATM?
