This is not the lark of a James Joyce run or a pub crawl at an unhealthy pace. This is a bar and gym fusion where a $40 class comes with all-you-can-drink wine after a cardio workout. For what it's worth, a 2007 study at Granada University suggested that a pint of beer might actually be better for you than the same amount of water after exercising. But to those men out there resting a six-pack on their six-pack (or a mini-keg on their mini-keg), you'll have to play the home version - Uplift is for women only.
Is the "gym and tonic" (as the New York Post so brilliantly labels it) the next great suds and duds (seriously, we need a laundromat/bar combo in town)? Or is it the awful actualization of one of the worst side effects of drinking - drunk running?
