The first Swagger, launched by brothers Derek Boone and Dustin Craighead, has been bringing in customers to 8341 Wornall for the Suribachi Burger (a tempura-fried angus patty with Asian mustard, wasabi cole slaw and sriracha chili sauce) since it opened in 2008 just a few doors down from Boone's tattoo shop.
The menu at the Martin City location is the same as the Wornall saloon. Order chili cheese fries (made with Flying Monkey chili) for the table and then attempt to conquer the Dead Texan: a bacon and egg burger between two grilled-cheese sandwiches. The beer menu, already impressive, is even larger at the new spot with more than 70 taps on the bar. Among the current selections are Flying Monkey Road Trip, New Holland Cabin Fever, Old Engine Oil, and Weihenstephan Hefeweissbier. In addition to beer, Swagger has plans for a whiskey bar with whiskey on tap.
Both locations are open from 11 to 1:30 a.m. Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 a.m. Saturdays and from 7:30 a.m. to midnight Sundays. The kitchen is open until 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday, midnight on Friday and Saturday, and 10 p.m. Sundays.
