Could KC have a mayor who doesn't eat barbecue?

Whether it's a source of pride or a smoke box you can't escape, Kansas City's identity will be forever intertwined with our barbecue. It's a stand-in for weather when I meet someone in another city - people want to know if our smoked meats are worthy of the hype.

I bring up for discussion how Kansas City is viewed because of the stunning - to me - revelation that Philadelphia Mayor Michael A. Nutter doesn't eat red meat and, therefore, doesn't partake in the traditional repast of his city. (His suggestion of a chicken cheesesteak was part of Travel + Leisure's round-up of the world's best sandwiches.)

Not eating Philly cheesesteaks must make for some awkward mayor-to-mayor bets on playoff series. Could Kansas City have a mayor in the future who doesn't eat barbecue?
