Chocolate is never a one-time indulgence. KKFI 90.1's Chocolate Fantasy Night at Californos (4124 Pennsylvania) is proof of that idea. The fundraiser for the community radio station is Sunday from 7:30 to 11 p.m. Dance to Shannon and the Rhythm King Band while Californos prepares food and lays out a dessert bar filled with chocolates (including confections from Panache Chocolatier and Andre's Confiserie Suisse). Tickets cost $20 ($15 in advance).
It's finally time to get started on the garden you've always been thinking you would have by now. Find herbs, vegetables and flowers at Ozanam's annual "Thyme for Kids" plant sale, set for Friday (9 a.m.-6 p.m.), and Saturday (9 a.m.-5 p.m.) on the Ozanam campus. The sale benefits the Horticultural Therapy Program at Ozanam, and the plants you purchase have been grown by the children in the program.
The 14th Street Wine Walk returns to the Power & Light District Saturday, from 3 to 6 p.m. You'll be able to walk among six restaurants, sampling wines and small plates. The wine you like the best, you get an entire glass to drink. It's a benefit for the Ronald McDonald House. Tickets cost $25 and include a souvenir tasting glass.
