Is there anything we can't fry?

According to Greek myth, it was Prometheus who brought humans fire. The untold portion of the myth is that shortly thereafter, our predecessors dredged a mammoth in flour and then fried it in oil.
This is the time of year when state fairs push the limits of of our stomachs. And the first challenger is from sunny San Diego, where they are now frying up cereal. My Burning Kitchen went to the San Diego County Fair and discovered quasi-doughnuts stuffed and topped with Cinnamon Toast Crunch or Trix. Is there anything we can't fry?
