Dear KCI, you are no longer the food court of the apocalypse

- Pork & Pickle opened earlier this summer at KCI.
At 10:40 p.m. on a Sunday night, I watched a man buy a banana from another man, and it changed everything. I have been no fan of the dining options at Kansas City International Airport (at this time last summer, I
was asking if it was the worst airport in the country for dining), but I now believe that the airport authority is making a good-faith effort to change the narrative.
Last night in Terminal B, a recently revamped concession area was lit and staffed — selling drinks, pre-packaged sandwiches, baked goods and fruit. This wasn't just yogurt parfaits — it had gluten-free options and Roasterie coffee. Across from the register were signs for a recently opened restaurant after the security checkpoint, the unfortunately named Pork & Pickle. So while you can apparently thank comedian Todd Barry for being able to access a map of KCI's food options on your phone, KCI also deserves a bit of thanks for the effort.
