
The seventh annual Carnival for CASA (Court-Appointed Special Advocates) is set for Saturday at Paradise Park (1021 N.E. Colbern Rd., Lee’s Summit). The carnival runs 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Admission for children is $20 ($25 at the gate), and adults pay either $20 ($25 at the door) to participate or $10 to accompany their children and have lunch.
Lift your drink to a good cause at the Waldo Crawldo Saturday. The annual pub crawl, which benefits the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, kicks off at 6 p.m. and includes seven bars within walking distance of 75th Street and Wornall. The Well, Tanner’s, Bobby Baker’s and 75th Street Brewery are part of the tour, which has $2.50 Bud bottles, $4 Jameson cocktails, a best-dressed contest, and a goal of breaking the world record for the most people in a Scion iQ. Tickets cost $5 in advance or $10 at the door.
Arguably the world’s biggest gathering of alpacas and funnel cakes is going on right now. The Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson is back, and this year marks its centennial. Find tractor pulls, Pronto Pups, and exhibits on beekeeping, through Sunday. Tickets cost $10 at the gate.
