Since opening three months ago, chef-owner Patrick Ryan's Port Fonda restaurant has retained bragging rights to being the busiest new venue in Kansas City — six nights a week. Starting tonight, Ryan is opening the Westport cantina on Mondays as well.
"Since we've made the decision not to serve lunch at the restaurant," Ryan says, "but we have a strong staff that wants to work, we'll be open all Monday nights starting tonight. We've had a lot of customer requests to be open at the beginning of the week, so we're adding the extra night."
Ryan is still taking Sundays off. He'll introduce Port Fonda's autumn menu on October 16. Yes, it's a Tuesday.
