For a town that loves to dip pizza crust in ranch, it somehow seems fitting that Pizza Ranch found its way here. The Iowa chain, named for a Cowboy theme rather than the delicious dressing (your mouth is watering, isn't it), opened a new pizza shop yesterday at 4801 North Oak Trafficway. In addition to the rustic Western decor, it's stocked with the traditional pizza buffet, salad bar and fried chicken.

It's the second Pizza Ranch to open in the Kansas City area in the past year. The first homestead opened in Liberty at 116 Stewart Court. The new location is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The pizza buffet closes an hour before the restaurant. You can call in an order to 816-454-4444.
