"A lot of people like drinking it neat or on the rocks," Dark Horse Director of Sales and Marketing Damian Garcia says. "It opens up some of the flavors, but they both do really nicely in a cocktail."
Dark Horse began aging the rye and bourbon in barrels in June 2011. The Reserve Bourbon, made with corn and rye, and Reunion Rye, made only with rye, both clock in at 89 proof.
"We think the rye whiskey is pretty unique," Garcia said. "Most rye whiskeys on the market have a secondary or third grain."
