Blue Yuu has no shortage of personality in Raytown (Slideshow)

Posted by on Thu, Sep 8, 2011 at 10:40 AM

Its a little slice of everything in Raytown.
The idea of Asian fusion means that you never know exactly what you're going to get when you sit down to eat at a restaurant. And that's certainly the case with Blue Yuu in Raytown as Charles Ferruzza discovered in this week's review. But it was the show put on by general manager Chris Taylor that might have been the most colorful thing in the whole dining room. Check out the accompanying slideshow of the food and decor by photographer Brooke Vandever.

Relaunching a restaurant isn't a piece of cake.
  • Relaunching a restaurant isn't a piece of cake.

Charles Ferruzza reviewed River's Bend this week -- the restaurant that has taken over the former Power Plant space in Parkville. But without an attached brewery and an uninspired menu, Ferruzza came away unimpressed. His review is here. For a slideshow of the food and decor, click on the picture above or here. There's a new banh mi in town.
  • There's a new banh mi in town.

In this week's review, Charles Ferruzza finds Pho Hoa tucked away on the backside of a brick building on Independence Avenue. Once inside, the big bowls of pho and delicate spring rolls were worth seeking out. There's a slideshow of the decor and food by Chris Mullins (click here or on the photo above to check it out).
