Just a bar. We went there for something different but it was nothing special. Started out with soup and it was really good . The motel advertisment said voted #1 pizza in KC. So we ordered the all meat large. BIG MISTAKE! Wow we each couldn't even finish 1 piece. It came to the table smelling like garlic. Which can be ok but after taking a bite the taste had way to much pepper and it also was only half cooked. We paid the bill but shouldnt have and left. Went to steak and shake instead. Wasted evening.
This place by far is the worst i've been too in years. My steak was nuked, i asked for medium and i got a well done hockey puck, my bbq chicken breast was a flimsy little piece of flash frozen chicken like the tenderbird brand with cheap ole kraft bbq sauce on it, and the worst part it was cold when i finally got my order. The ranch dressing for salads is awful as well. The servers sound like they are reading from a card and always ask if you want dessert every time they come to the table in hopes they can sell you something else. The place is over priced for the amounts you get also. I'll never go back.
We waited for an hour and half after being told 45 minutes. We spoke the Manger who never apologized, never visited the table, and couldnt handle complaints. The staff of children running the restaurant mocked us since we had to see the manager to get a table. You pay 28 bucks for King Crab but you will notice youre bucket is practically empty. We had company in from out of town and they used to go to Joes in Iowa and loved it. So we were excited to eat at Joes. We left the house as 5:45 got to the restaurant at 6:00 finally sat to eat at 7:45 got our drinks at 7:48 our appetizer was thrown down but some kid who im pretty sure was on drugs; at 8:10 (yeah it took a long time for them to make that appetizer apparently). Our food finally came about 8:30. Each plate by some other child in a uniform, not one utensil, not one. Our waitress never brought out the food so we had to find one of the kids dancing around the restaurant. I didnt see any adults working here. I will spare you the rest but it was the worst experience I have ever had a restaurant. Avoid this restaurant like the plague. Our friends said they dont remember it being like this and that the food has gone completely down hill. They said they must be trying to cheapen their expenses by cutting down on portions and quality. After having this experience more and more people I talk to say that this same thing. They all say the food proportions and quality has completely gone down hill. You wouldnt walk into a dark alley full of menacing looking guys with guns, so dont go into Joes Crab Shack either!!!

I have gone to this restaurant since it opened. I had a somewhat identical experience as the 1st review. The food used to always be fresh and plentiful. The time before last, they were low on a lot of stuff, when I asked if more was coming out, they brought more food out in a timely manner. When I went last night at 8:15, they close at 9:30, everything on the entree side of the buffet was old, crusty and half empty with no meat, just veggies that were wilted and disgusting looking. When I asked if more stuff was coming out the server told me that it was too close to closing time and that they might be out of shrimp but she would check and see if they would make more. I sat and waited for about 20 minutes, snacking on appetizers (since that was the only thing on the buffet that looked edible) for the server to let me know if more food was coming out. She came back and told me that when she asked, they just said "ok" and she did not know if they were making more or not so I waited about another 10 minutes and when no food came out I went to talk to the person I was told was manager. When I spoke with him at not even 9PM he told me it was too close to closing time to make any more food. When I told him we arrived an hour and a half before they closed and asked for food refills he just started talking to the server in chinese and she told me that they would not charge me. That did not solve the probem. They still charged my mother and my friend $10 a piece for crusty, dried up, old, nasty food that was not worth 50 cents. They probably had a major case of the mud butts from eating it anyway after sitting under food lamps for so long. I will never eat at this place again even though it used to be my favorite chinese restaurant in town, my business is now going to Dragon Inn in Corinth Square which actually has excellent food. I don't know if they are under new ownership/management, but this place really stinks now. DONT GO TO THIS PLACE UNLESS YOU HAVE NO TASTEBUDS AND WANT DIAREAHA AND STOMACH PAINS!!

Re: “McCormick & Schmick's”
Below-Average, boring corporate food. Its servers act like they have memorized scripts, I overheard the manager talking about her fake boobs, and the bartender took almost ten minutes to get me a drink when nearly nobody else was there (she was talking to a waitress). Not coming back.
