The food was soooo bad that my dogs puked up the leftovers that i fed them. Now thats pretty bad dont you think?
Excellent made to order deli-type sandwiches. My only complaint is that they close WAY too early if you're wanting a quick sandwich for dinner.
When they first opened this 54th ST. location on NE Barry Rd. near Liberty, it was one of only a few restaurants in that area. Now it's very built up with many choices. Many have come and several have gone in the past 10 years. The 54th St. seems to attract the shoppers from the near by strip malls and Wal-Mart. In the early years, this 54th ST. was at least OK, nothing special, but decent enough and closer to Kearney where we live than most other restaurants. But we stopped going there after a waiter, botched our large group order. Example: "Oh you wanted the salad before your meal?" Complaining only got us a gift certificate for $10. off the next visit. No thanks. On an earlier trip, our waiter asked us to give him his tip before we were done, because he was ending his shift. Amazing! To be fair, the Liberty area is service worker challenged. and good help is hard to find and harder to keep given the low wages and poor management in many of these corporate chain boxes. The food at 54th St. is similar to other family American fare style boxes like Appplebee's, etc. We usually opt for The Corner Cafe which is a few feet away from the 54th St. location.
This place by far is the worst i've been too in years. My steak was nuked, i asked for medium and i got a well done hockey puck, my bbq chicken breast was a flimsy little piece of flash frozen chicken like the tenderbird brand with cheap ole kraft bbq sauce on it, and the worst part it was cold when i finally got my order. The ranch dressing for salads is awful as well. The servers sound like they are reading from a card and always ask if you want dessert every time they come to the table in hopes they can sell you something else. The place is over priced for the amounts you get also. I'll never go back.
Excellent Food! My second Kitchen! .......and great music!
If you are just dying to try the worst shit that Mexico produces and have no desire to taste an authentic recipe from Mexico... then by all means, try out this dump on 40 highway. It's not even near the Westside where all of the Mexican community lives. It's an abomination to Mexican food and should be considered armed and dangerous with food poisoning. DO NOT ever go near a shit hole slum like this place unless you have a death wish.
Burnt fries, burnt bread, undercooked chicken ... the food that came out should never have left that kitchen!

While this has all the decor of your standard TGI Friday's or Applebees establishments, the difference is the menu and staff. You will absolutely have no problem finding something you like and we've yet to have anything we didn't care for. Our favorites are the ribs, chicken fried stake, and anything with the jelapano bacon on top.

Cafe al Dente has called the River Market "home" since 2000, and I've been a customer since 2001. The food is always exceptional, from their homemade lasagna to pizza's to the special's on Friday and Saturday nights leaving you thinking you just left a 5 star restaurant. Prices are great and you are always greeted with a smile and treated like family. New restaurants have emerged in the River Market, but this one is here to stay! Happy Hour is one of the best; domestic draws $1.60, beer bottles $2.50 and a dozen martinis to choose from at $6!

This place gave my entire family food poisoning. I had to take everyone to the hospital shortly after finishing dinner.

I have been to this restaurant 2 times now, each time as unimpressing as the last. The food is decent, but the service is atrocious. Both times we have had to ask for a server after being seated and waiting 20 minutes or more.
And a warning to anyone who does not want to be overcharged: My bill was incorrect (7/12/2008), I was charged for 2 orders of chips and salsa I did not purchase and 2 drinks I did not have and the 'Manager' was unwilling to remove the charges. I was told, "This is where it stands, sometimes you have to pay for your friends' food." All in my party paid their bill, no one was trying to shrug charges.
I will never return to that establishment, I have never encountered such poor management.

I have been a Cupinis fan since I moved to Westport three years ago. Correction, I was a Cupinis fan.
Two words, Sell Outs.
Ever since they expanded the food quality is horrible, the cooks that I used to know on a first name basis are no longer around, and on two seperate wedding occasions, catered by Cupinis, the food was unanimously disliked. They even showed up with entirely the wrong cake once, AND the cake was horrible.
This just sux. Cupinis, you can do better. Don't go here to eat.

Wonderful place. The food- portions are huge, you can share between two people easily. Very flavorful and a wide variety. The atmosphere- Though it's like a maze, I was afraid I'd get lost on the way back from the bathroom, it intrigued me. Walls are decorated vintage like as though it like I'd imagine an authentic italian restraunt in italy. The service- I thought was very good given our group was about 20 people. They even gave us free cheesy bread cuz it was a bachlorette party =). That was very nice.
The outside while waiting is also very italy like with rod iron tables and seats and statues. Very pretty and romantic outside.
Very pleased...I will go back.

The best of the best of the Northland, the shining crown of Zona Rosa. Tom Fooleries is a choice place to meet singles, couples, families. The atmostphere is friendly, inviting, hip. The service is impeccable. Happy hour prices can't be beat. It's weekend bands are rare to find anymore without going to Westport and getting shot, robbed, car-jacked, or raped.
This venue of the restaurant is even better than the Plaza locale. It has a deck. Don't worry about hanging out front on the Plaza location and getting your purse stolen.
Appetizers are great, not typical bar food. Upscale, classy, yet friendly.
I love this place.

54th Street amazes me that it survives. The entire wait staff is in a constant state of confusion. Sometimes food is prompt, other times it's a nightmare. While the menu is vast, it's the same thing you can get at Chiles, Fred P. Otts, Applebees. The one thing I can bank on is taking Prilosic before going. Eating at 54th Street is a weight loss program. I never eat there.
