Re: “Kate's Kitchen

Fantastic restaurant! Great food, pleasant staff. Highly recommended.
My personal favorite is the Turkey and Avocado Eggs Benedict; it's no longer listed on the menu, but just ask the waiter and they'll cook it for you just like they always did.

Re: “Kate's Kitchen

This restaurant asked a very loyal customer to not return due to his Alzheimer wife having a mishap in the bathroom. The owner claims to be a Christian man but I don't know too many Christians who do not have sympathy or respect for anyone with this debilitating disease. I can only hope he or his wife never suffer the embarrassing disgrace that he put this lovely couple through. STAY AWAY from this restaurant. They do not care for their patronages.

Re: “DiCarlo's Mustard Seed Mexican-Americana Restaurant & Bar

Not only is their food horrible, they have the rudest staff!! Very unfriendly and they charge 18% gratuity to your bill when it is un deserving. I DO NOT recommend this place!!!

Re: “Ernie's Steakhouse & Kross Lounge

I give it a 10 for the king sized Chicken Fried Steak and Best homemade green beans and homemade mashed potatoes. The best kingsized plate of chicken gizzards. around 9. to 11.00 enough to take home for another meal. Best service and waitress are soooo nice.
You will not be disappointed with chicken fried steak!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: “Gates Barbecue

The Gates BBQ legacy is so sad! You would think that because they opened the same year and with the same level of success as McDonalds opened that they would be more successful then they are. But they are still stuck in 1940. The company has the potential to advance but their management sucks.

Re: “Sam's Tastee Treat

Haven't had a chance to try it yet, but they close at 8, not 9. Just found that out the hard way.

Re: “Rime Buddhist Center and Monastery

My experience wasn't horrible, but it wasn't that good either. I went for a meditation opening. There was a lot of noise from children in the other rooms. The guide literally read off of print outs and didn't seem to know his material well. Maybe he is new, maybe he isn't a good speaker (in a group of 3 people), maybe there were just a lot of heavy energy in the building. Personally, I was looking for a little more.

Re: “Vee's Sweets and Treats

Vee's caters lunches for our group of 30-35 people every week, we've been delighted with the service, price, and quality of the food!

Re: “Margarita's

This place does not want to serve African-Americans. Please do not support Margaritas. Me and my family was told we would not be served and could not come back simply because we wanted an exchange and was not happy with the food or service and another group of African-Americans that sat next to us was treated the same way.

Re: “Magnolia’s Contemporary Southern Bistro

Delicious! Small and bright atmosphere. Everything I've had (and I've been several times and gotten something different each time) has been delectable.

Re: “The Roxy

Just heard Jim Kilroy, a long time promoter of Kansas City local musicians bought the Roxy in late February 2014... Kilroy is known for helping numerous original bands get their start in the KC area as well as keeping the rock/metal scene alive in this town... His publication of the Banzai Magazine in the 80's flooded the streets of KC.
He was huge in putting the spotlight on bands such as Banshee, Mortal Reign, Leo Project, Red Line Chemistry and Black Oxygen just to name a few.
Kilroy has brought bands to the fore-front of the scene through his creation of events like Club Wars, Metal Wars, Benifit Shows, the Elvis Bash, Winterfest and the Kansas City Rock & Comic-Con (again just to name a few).
I see good things coming at the Roxy... congrats Jim Kilroy!!!!

Re: “The Red Balloon

About 5 years ago I was a regular here, so I went back with my wife hoping that it was still a good place.
I was disappointed, she was disgusted. The place was never 5 stars, and always felt that if the light of day hit anything inside it would turn to dust but it's even lost that bit of charm.
The tables were sticky, as were the chairs, the waitstaff was oblivious to non-existent.

Don't waste your time.
