Be careful if you plan to visit this place. Their rates change when you are about to pay the check. I have paid a ridiculously high price of $19.55 for a shitty buffet. The reason given was a long holiday (long holiday on last friday of October?...Really?)...and a special buffet while it was a regular buffet. Please check and confirm their rates before eating there else who knows I paid $19.45 you might have to pay $49.45
Love Max's! The fact that he knows our names and greets us with a smile EVERY single time we walk in says a lot about the place. We haven't lived in KC for the past three years but still make it a point to go in for burgers and fries when we are in town. Just forget about Sonic and McDonald's...not in the same league.

This restaurant went out of business in December of 2011 but was reopened by two former employees and it's now called The Stack.
I've been eating at BB's since they opened in 1990 and have tried most of the items on the menu. They have never let me down on the quality of their brisket, burnt ends, turkey, or sausage. Their fries and beans are very good as well.
Best barbeque in Kansas City.
Great sandwiches.....beef, turkey, pork, all piled high, tender, juicy, and smoky with plenty of smoke ring. Great french fries from fresh cut potatoes fried in lard. Wonderful, rich & tangy beans. Burnt ends to die for !!

Deviled eggs and fallafal incredible and half price till 6. Great specialty drinks. Dogs ok on the sidewalk. Just about perfect.
