Re: “Mingle

Very nice bar, owners and staff are super nice and small plates are great, especially the filet medallions & mashed potatoes! Finally a nice restaurant in downtown Lee's Summit that should be around for a long time!

Re: “Wilson's Pizza and Grill

By far one of the most over-looked and under-rated pizza joint's in the Kansas City area, this is a nostalgic place for me and my family because we have been eating here for years. We have lived all over the Kansas City area both KS, and MO and Wilson's pizza is a true gem. The toppings are generous and hardy with full flavor. The crust is home made and never doughy. The best part is the location it's in the historically African American neighbor and community of Quindaro, a community that has without a doubt has a personality of it's own. Despite the negative stigma that has been attached to the neighborhood its a truly beautiful and strong area of the city with hardworking and decent residents who are easy going and proud of their heritage and groundbreaking history such as the first Black owned and ran hotel west of the Mississippi being opened just feet from the Missouri River and one can still see ruins of its foundation and structure, also this area of the city is a known and documented safe passage of the underground railroad with ruins of safe houses still present to this day and where many of the neighborhood kids may have unknowingly played at. So Wilsons Pizza is a diamond in ruff and for those naive enough to let reputation keep you from experiencing a real part of history in your own city, i say broaden you horizons through experience and enough an establishment that has been servicing the community for over 20 years.

Re: “China King

I would never have expected such great quality chinese food from a quick serve store, especially for such a great price! The Tso's (extra spicy) was excellent, clearly fresh. The staff is polite and very kind, they brought my carry out order to me where I was seated with a smile. Wonderful place, I plan on returning!

New owner...Wow, spotlessly clean, great food and service. This restaurant is a must. It opened in 1949 and is still packing them in!

Re: “New York Dawg Pound

This place is awesome! The dogs are the best in town. The staff is friendly and eager to please. The prices especially the combo meals are very reasonably priced. Plus, it's a fun place with the graffiti art and the game room. Fast, fun, affordable, AND great food. What more can you ask for?

Re: “Cookees Drive-In

My husband and I decided to take a trip to Fort Scott, Kansas. We looked on the Internet for places to eat on the way. We found Cookees Drive-In listed and it had all excellent reviews, so that is where we went. This is a classic drive-in burger place. It is located in Pleasanton but you have to go through the middle of town and follow the main street around the second curve to find it. The food was FANTASTIC! My husband stated that you could tell they are old-fashioned and used fresh ground beef. We followed our meal up with chocolate shakes that were divine! You should really treat yourself to a day trip and try this hidden gem out! We are sure glad we did!

Re: “Katie's Pizza (CLOSED)

I agree completely that Katie's has gone through peaks and valleys; however, after my recent visits, it is at its best and new owner obviously has what it takes! Just saw new flyer with DAILY stuff! Bike night, taco night, Texas Hold 'Em, music and, best of all, the food is better than it has EVER been!! Pizzas finally have plenty of toppings and cooked perfect!! Boyfriend looking forward to the Bikini Sand Volleyball exhibitions with the drink models! LOL Go figure. Try this place again... I'm glad I did!!!

Re: “Wheat State Pizza

Suprisingly good. I had heard from a couple of friends that they loved it but I never ordered anything but papajohns til now. Wheat state's wheat crust was much more flavorful and fresh. I also got a small white crust for my daughter and it was better too. It took 5 or 10 more minutes than papa johns usually does but i noticed the differnce in quality.

Re: “KC Sushi

A hidden hangout. I'm always on a hunt for amazing sushi and have checked out every place in KC recommended to me as 'the best.' I took the wrong turn and hungry and out of options happened in a new sushi restaurant, generically named KC Sushi and generically placed in a strip mall. Woah what a surprise. best sushi in KC period. Fresh, well prepared, and not just the same ol' rolls as every where else. The chef was a riot, the staff friendly, and the service very professional. I was so impressed with the place I make it a weekly stop, and am noticing many others are doing the same. It's full of regulars!!! A good sign...keep up the good work, Bui. Moderately priced and great drinks too.
