Re: “The Orion Building, part of Kansas City's historic Film Row, is razed

ha ha ha ...while some of you are whining about what should be done by someone else .....other people "shirley helzberg" are actually out doing something. Big difference between leaders and couch whiners. Leaders get stuff done, couch whiners just biatch and moan about what they would have done, what someone else did or what someone else didn't do. Let's see what are the great qualities of couch whiners....laziness, jealousy, complaining......just like the occupy liberty memorial park folks. Bang your drum, smoke some weed, ferment your halitosis and dirty up what someone else built!

Re: “Debbie Gold is a new partner in the Red Door Grill

She didn't own 40 Sardines with Michael Smith, did she? I thought that was her first venture alone after they split. Was Michael Smith a partner in that?

Anyway, the place looks like it's worth checking out, once they're up and running. I hate the signage, though. Looks like it belongs on a restaurant in a mall food court, or something, to me. Drove by it yesterday, though, and the red door is officially up! Looking forward to seeing how it all turns out...

Re: “Where are you going for brunch in Kansas City?

Bristol 303, regularly, frequently. The menu is fresh, dependable, reasonably priced and the place feels great inside. Also, there are different daily specials, too.

That and I went to Cafe' Sebastienne last week for brunch. Thoroughly enjoyed the asparagus salad with great, rich, full-bodied, smooth (not bitter Starbucks type) coffee.

Re: “Anthony Accurso gives his family's namesake restaurant a kick in the mozz

I hope you're not going soft, Charles, on critiquing restaurants and food and restaurateurs. Something in this seems to possibly suggest you aren't being fully honest--scathing--if required. Naturally, hope I'm wrong.

Re: “With Google putting Fiber in Austin, Kansas City Startup Village confronts an uncertain future

I work at a startup at the Kansas City Startup Village, and I'd like to express two thoughts:
1. The companies in the KCSV are not threatened by Google Fiber's announcement for other cities. In fact, a lot of the technology developed at KCSV leverage high-speed networks, and more people having access to similar high-speed networks is a good thing. A small community of people having access to high speed internet access doesn't make an ideal customer base.
2. Not all the startups in the KCSV are "small time-y online businesses". For example, at the company I work for, we're developing cutting edge eye-vein biometric software and our clients are the world's largest banks and OEMs. A lot of the companies have raised funding from internationally renowned venture capitalists and angel investors who believe what they're working on has a lot of potential.

Re: “Brian Cunningham, Therman Lacy III and Jachin Reedy identified as recent homicide victims

I'm so sorry for everyones sadness and loss. I'm hurting also from all the senseless killings. My cousins were murded in January of this year and April of last year. My heart goes out to you all. Revelation 21:4..John 5:28,29. Soon this wickedness will end. Turn to Jehovah. Throw your burdens upon him. Soon our love ones will be resurrected like Jesus resurrected Lazarus and many others. Have faith. Have hope. Pray always and forgive. Don't hold grudges. God will take care of the bad people.

Re: “Oddly Correct and Hammerpress are collaborating on Heirloom Coffee Box Sets

they do not offer cream and sugar for the pour over coffee, it's what they do, and it's their right to do it. they do have whole milk to make espresso based lattes, caps and cortados.
