Re: “Numbers don't lie: Kansas is far behind most neighboring states in job growth

Democrats were beating the drum to raise taxes or the "critically under funded" Kansas schools were going to go down the drain a decade ago, taxes are lower, schools are still good, our kids are now getting free MacBook Airs.

So despite all the crying, taxes are lower and things are great, not even cheap Korean laptops, real MacBooks for the kids at the "critically underfunded" schools.

Re: “Why does Jack White look so annoyed in Kansas City?

I'm surprised that a guy as intelligent and innovative as Jack White gives a flying poop about anything so banal and mundane as baseball.

He didn't get to be where he is at by wasting all his time watching a bunch of total strangers play childrens' games.

Re: “Anthony Bruno's family records Kansas City police officers tearing down memorial ribbons (video)

I am going to put up some ribbons that say "Bruno got what he deserved" and see how long the ciminal-defending firewomen leave them up.

Re: “Anthony Bruno's family records Kansas City police officers tearing down memorial ribbons (video)

The ribbons were over-the top excessive and Bruno's family, especially his wife knew they were excessive. Doesn't Kansas City have a sign ordinance that this would fall under? Signs cannot legally be placed on utility poles or on public right-of-way. Offenders could be fined from $20 to $1000 per sign.

Re: “Anthony Bruno's family records Kansas City police officers tearing down memorial ribbons (video)

"The Brunos say they were unaware of anyone tying up ribbons in Hubbard’s neighborhood. Stephanie Bruno said some people took home extra ribbons because they said they wanted to put them up in their neighborhood, but no one said they were going to Hubbard’s subdivision."
I find this hard to believe- I was in this area on Sunday afternoon and there was 1 street that was lined with these ribbons- and I mean around every tree, every light pole, 5-8 additional tied to branches in each tree- and oddly enough I didn’t see any in surrounding neighborhoods- just along this 1 road and about 3-5 people doing it. I’m guessing they knew exactly what they were doing but like everything else-they play the ‘I’m so innocent, I DIDN’T know that happening’. About 45mins to an hour later- all the ribbons were gone.
And just as a sidenote- if they’re filing a lawsuit against Marriott Hotel, Marriott International, and the KC Downtown Group- how come they didn’t include the catering service at the reception (which I’m guessing supplied booze?) or Anthony’s Restaurant (which also supplies booze). If he wasn’t over-served would he have acted the way he did? Would there have been an argument, would he have attacked the taxi driver, would he have left to cool off (aka-not in get trouble), resisted and ignored the cops demands? Shouldn’t some blame fall on their side as well? Both were in the wrong on some levels and it should be treated as such-

Go back to bitching about the death penalty, Steve.

Thanks for reading.

Cops with warrior-like attitudes and those who get voilent when drunk don't mix well, and here is your proof.

Re: “Anthony Bruno's family records Kansas City police officers tearing down memorial ribbons (video)

I am very sorry for Mr. Bruno's unnecessary death. However, as a downtown resident and worker I appreciate the CID workers' efforts to remove the ribbons. They were tied to everything. Every light pole, trash can, bench, sign, bike rack, etc. Anything and everything that could have a ribbon tied to it. This is the first I have seen that KCPD also removed some ribbons. They were becoming a nuisance in short order and the CID acted appropriately to remove them.

I would also note that CID appeared to be untying them rather than cutting them down.

Not a KCFD firefighter one should point any fingers at any other public servant blaming them for acting in a non professional way till they admit they are to blame for the death of Megan Cramer.

Re: “Anthony Bruno's family records Kansas City police officers tearing down memorial ribbons (video)

People put memorial ribbons, wreaths and crosses up all over the city and they don't get taken down. A beautiful life was taken and a beautiful heart stopped beating. Let this family grieve and put their ribbons up. This was a son, brother, husband, nephew, cousin, friend and last but not least a K.C. MO. FIREFIGHTER who might have had to be there to protect one of the officers or their family someday. His life was taken , and in my opinion this should not have happened. The Bruno family is not rioting they just want to put some ribbons up to remember their loved one whos life was taken from them. He was a young man just 27 this family was robbed of his life. So officers let this family grieve.

Hate to state the obvious but if you look right over his shoulder there's a line of fellows on the wall standing and looking exactly like him.

Re: “Rob Dalzell's estate sale: What we saw

It's in poor taste for sure, however since the entire "restaurant empire" was funded with embezzled tax dollars, I don't think it's terribly inappropriate.

Oh brother! He is an artist and he travels and probably f-n tired from the road and all the douche bags out on the road. Not meaning his fans. Has anyone been on a long road trip lately? It is agonizing/horrible traffic jams road construction truck stops all that jazz!

Re: “Anthony Bruno's family records Kansas City police officers tearing down memorial ribbons (video)

Taking down the memorial ribbons is a sign of guilt. TAking down the ribbons won't make this go away as Hubbard made Bruno go away. You took a life unnecessarily. Just because you were cleared in a court of law doesn't mean you're innocent. So keep on destroying the visual reminders if that's what makes you feel better. That in fact is another coward move. You all keep incriminating yourselves. Just screams guilt.

I hope Rose gets a 400 lb cellmate with a hormone imbalance. It is too light of a sentence. If a punk ever addresses a judge like that they should have the book thrown at them.
