NASTY BAR! GAY UNFRIENDLY! God forbid if you are not part of the "dart" tournament. Had the self proclaimed "owner" decide to lay his hands on my husband and commit assault! THE WORST PLACE I HAVE EVER BEEN TO! much less a gay bar! I am a gay man, and have neverbeen treated so mucch like an outsider!!!!! NEVER GO HERE IF YOU ARE GAY MAN OR LESBIAN WOMAN! GO ELSEWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!
@Lisa
I live in Wichita restaurant is it? Because i havent had this since I was a child growing up in Kansas City and i would very much love to indulge in a child hood favorite, and have me some BBQ while I'm at it.
Char House is no longer open it is Closed for good
Char House sucks.
Louise's in Lawrence wins this hands down.
Stroud's has FANTASTIC steaks, both the Filet Mignon and KC Strip, and the Fried & Broiled Pork Chops are also terrific. We've been eating there for birthdays and anniversaries for 39 years, and they never disappoint!
They no longer have the best fish and chips. I use to eat here every week. The London's best is the worst and too doughy not cooked right. Mt mckenly fish and chips are no longer on the menu. They where the best ever in the hole city. And the catfish is a special item that comes and goes and is rarely there. Sorry but I think the best fish and chips not are at the movie theater amc 20. Sounds crazy to say that but they have an awesome blvd wheat bear batter. Amazing
It is very unbelivable that such lemonade in available in kansas City but we in Lawrence and Topeka have no idea of its existence. I just tasted it couple of days ago and found it very refreshing. We would appreciated it if the distributor can make it available to our area; after all, it is Kansas original.
Where can I find James Salza. It is EXCELLENT, but hard to find. Please give a Kansas City location for sales. Thank you
Great reviews. It's often how the venue looks that appeals to the buying public, more so if they knew how good the food and service is. Before opening a bar business, the owner should make sure the bar's overall appearance and services are very appealing to the customers.
Are you kidding me. J'Js hands down has the best list in the city. One of the best in the midwest!!!!!
Horrible food; the $30.00 steak was not eatable. I had to send it back and the second one was even worse. By the time I got my steak, everything else was too cold to eat. Never again!!!! But Al was good as always.
This shop is a fantastic stop! You won't be disappointed. Several recipes are free for the taking too, so you go home knowing what to do with that delicious chocolate balsamic vinegar (one of our favorites!).
I happen to be a huge fan of Cook Shack, and I'm offended that someone would be so rude. I have never had a bad experience there, and obviously quite a few people would agree, considering they were voted best breakfast in KC. Don't let "Steve" get you down Cook Shack, Kansas City loves you!!!
P.S. The Mc Donalds comment in the article was in reference to it NOT being like Mc Donalds...you might want to read it again "steve".
Wow. Not only was that article one persons opinion, it was a rude and offending to the many, many people that fill the cook shack up every weekend. I see the parking lot always full, and everyone i have spoken to has had wonderful things to say about the food and service at the cook shack cafe. A small family diner is supposed to be greasy and mom and pop-ish. Dont take that away from Kansas City and their lack of small, family owned good diners. If the Cook Shack Cafe was THAT bad, why on earth would anyone vote them the best breakfast in KC? I am a full fledged cook shack patron and I support this comment.

Odd events. The patio was full so the kitchen was slow. From the time we sat down to the time our food hit the table....one hour exactly. When we noticed lip stick on one of our wine glasses the server poured the wine from the old glass into a new one...gross. and it wasn't even a very healthy pour. The food was good, but not great, this is not a place that we are rushing to get back to.
