@MsBunny. They are in Kansas City, Kansas.
Are these gardens in KCK or in KCMO, or both? I was confused by the various references in the article and couldn't figure it out.

The great thing about the New Roots program in response to Doc's comment is that many of it's farmers wouldn't be able to find a job outside of manufacturing, pork slaughtering or package handling because of their need to work and provide for their families. They wouldn't have time for school, right now it's about survival. New Roots allows them to use the skills they have brought to this country to provide for their families, own their own business and in that they learn valuable business skills, along with English. Their kids and grand-kids though, they will become those nurses and programmers you are talking about.
Well...Doc ....if you don't mind paying .05 ea for a stringbean with your $20 steak-by all means keep those nasty aliens and refugees out-you dum bass.
Next we will see an article about Manhattan being more popular than Paris.
DOC CLEMENTS
Hey dickhead do they figure all of the illegals into the US Population? If the illegals left, agriculture would literally fall on it's face. Why? Because all the domestic people think they are too good for Agriculture and feel just like you, and that is that they should be entitled to things like a white collar job, 401k, 90 vacation days, and an Obama phone. So while most of the US Population is in the dumps and now too lazy to look for jobs, at least good wholesome humans like these are coming together to put food on their own tables instead of sucking on Obama's titty.

This is a bad concept. Instead of teaching low income refugees to farm small urban plots, it would be much more efficient to the economy, and to their quality of life, if they were given English skills and training in a more marketable skill, like programming or nursing. I have to give kudos to somebody for trying, but less than 10% of the US working population are farmers. It isn't a huge growth industry, and it is an industry based on exploitation of foreign-born labor to round out the profit margins.
Kansas City is so backwards

You can say what you want about Jermaine Reed, but he's a leader in our generation. He has done some dynamic things in a very short period of time, and he inspires me as a 28 yr old woman in the DC area. I can't help but wonder why positive change always has such a negative pushback from the very people who would benefit from the changes? We need to start praying for our leaders instead of trying to tear them down. Keep moving forward Mr. Reed, the world needs you.
I am producing a documentary about this case. We are trying to tell the story accurately. If anyone has any interest in participating, please contact me at the email below.

I live in Lees Summit but have a business in the Blue Valley and Reed gets things done. I will support him if he decides to go for a higher office.
LOL, imagine how many of the serious beer places are relieved they weren't drug into this trashy write-up.
Councilman Reed really puts his heart and soul into a district for which he has an innate and real world understanding. Diligently following both local and national politics quite often leaves one with a off putting taste in the mouth as a result of the disenchantment inevitably felt when we realize the candidates have forgotten from whence they came. Councilman Reed is a breath of fresh air and a reaffirmation of the greatness of Democracy. Keep on reminding us all that elected officials do hold true to their vision and commitments and here's to many more years of public service, sir!
Ivanhoe thanks you for the new sidewalks. We need the gunshot tracker in our area and stiffer fines and camera's for dumping trash. Look at 41st garfield. It's the hood's personal dump site.
You're so awesome Jermaine Reed!! So honored to call you MY friend!! Keep pushing forward and being the "change" this city needs and deserves!!! Hugs- BM (Reed) :-)
Another place to check out is The Chef, a small breakfast restaurant with the best breakfast in Kansas no matter what you order. Get in early because it fills up quick.
The All-Star game opponent is Roma.
Re: “Johnson County got a deal on King Louie. Turning it into a national suburbia museum won't be a bargain”
Maybe they could build the Suburbia based on the same concept as Warp's Pioneer Village in Minden, Nebraska.
One of the hard things in life is finding jobs for the Developly Disabled. Make it a priority to hire them first. A cul-de-sac could provide museum display homes and homes for the disabled.
Sounds like a win for everybody.
