Re: “Here's what we know about Frazier Glenn Miller, the unabashed racist arrested in Sunday's shooting spree

He wasn't a Christian either. True Christian believers don't hate. This guy and Rev. Phelps give Christianity a bad reputation.

He wasn't a green beret or a master sargeant. He was a e-5.

Hopefully, whatever the justice system cannot take care of...the Federal prison system will. Release him out into general population. Dude won't last 6 months before he gets shanked.

Re: “Succotash takes on the Taco Bell breakfast menu

I think the burger they serve at The Herford House is better than McDonalds' Quarter Pounder. The Reuben at The Peanut is better than Arbys' version. The chili at Wendys is OK but better Grinders. Burger King fries are tasty but I like Bryants' version. How about that meatloaf at HyVee? But give the meatloaf sandwich at The Brick a try. There you go.

Re: “John Cale on the process of composition and creation, at the Lawrence Arts Center this Tuesday

Awesome tune!

John's voice has definitely held on much better than Lou Reed's did those last few years.

Must be because he doesnt smoke.

Re: “iPho Tower now open at 3623 Broadway - and kitchen stays open late

As a recent resident of that neighborhood, I agree that it's not the best. I saw this ipho tower and never considered going there, but maybe they're on to something. The new jazz place on the corner is really cool, and hopefully a sign of revitalization. Good luck to them!

Re: “Streetside: Over a Barrel in Martini Corner

You can call it whatever you want, it's still just a bunch of fake ass dweeb wanna be urbanites who were in suburbia. They don't have the cojones to go further east and try to gentrify the hood - but want to act like they hate their parents who live in JoCo. Most of them can't handle a real martini anyway!

Re: “Cook Shack Cafe closed today

Hate to see it closed, but with such a small dining room, there probably just wasn't much of a profit to make. Waldo/Brookside are woefully under served when it comes to breakfast. Would love to see something bigger pop up on a new location soon.

Re: “Cook Shack Cafe closed today

This place had the best biscuits in gravy in town and the worst coffee. Sorry to see it go.

Re: “Cook Shack Cafe closed today

No real surprise. We ordered breakfast there every weekend for the past couple years and were surprised on the rare occasion that the order wasn't screwed up in some way. Very inconsistent food quality. Unfortunately it was the only place close by that does breakfast (not fast food). Disappointed I'll have to drive further for Saturday morning breakfast but they won't really be missed.

Re: “Developers lay out their visions for the Kansas City of tomorrow

Unfortunately KCK 's future is on the chopping block. The new mega airport of 2020 is going to be located there and downtown KCK and surrounding neighborhoods will be razed with little or no notification to its residents and business owners. Thats how we roll in the future!!

This place was very briefly a Maid-Rite location as well.
