Re: “It's all about using your noodle this morning on KCUR's Central Standard

It is Pandolfis. They don't serve dinner. They do however feature spaghetti and meatballs on their normal menu. http://www.pandolfisdeli.com/menu/

Re: “NHL looking to expand; Kansas City, of course, is not on the list

Yes, AEG failed badly in bringing a team here. And yes, the new spiel is to cover up the broken promise. But more important is that the NHL is already too big and has more teams than it should ... if anything, the NHL should be downsized. Even more important is that the odds on KC supporting a NHL or NBA team over a ten year period is small.

If either league thought KC was a huge untapped market, a team and owner would appear quickly. That this hasn't happened is proof that a bill of goods was sold to the voters and politicians years ago by AEG.

I live a block away at the intersection of Thompson and Sandusky. You've got one customer! Can't wait to enjoy a beer on a relaxing Spring day.

Re: “Eric Fischer's racial segregation map shows Kansas City's true colors

I know white people hate taking about race due to do guilt of all the stuff they done but don't be ignorant, all that modern day racial segregation is due to the aftermath of Jim Crow.

Ah -- you're right, it's Pandolfis. I think I've had spaghetti there for lunch, maybe as a special?

I don't get how they think 1 team with 40 home games is going to affect them hosting concerts the average 140 events out of 365 days a year? They can work around it. If they had both an NBA and NHL team then they have a good point. A team with 40 home games and the miscellaneous 140 events a year can bring the arena more money and not to mention more business in PNL.

Clay please go away. It's not just our reporters in KC that don't want to hear from you any longer, it's the entire city.

Re: “Barcadia on 5th set to open in the old 403 Club space next month

The 403 was a place where ballplayers came to drink after the bars closed in KCMO. My uncle told me that Mickey Mantle and Billy Martin were regulars there when the Yanks were in town to play the A's. Virgil Trucks showed up there one afternoon in his uniform, enraged that he had been removed from a game.

Re: “Baked in Kansas City is almost too much of some good things

I love our city's caricature of celebrated food and nightlife journalists. It pairs well with the overinflated sense of pretentious entitlement that is often extended to a familiar few within the local restaurant industry. It's a good thing Baked has their own parking lot across the street so Charles had somewhere to park his Waaambulance.

I did enjoy the image of a third grader assembling a cheese plate. I want to try that cheese plate; I bet dollars to doughnuts that it would be original and amazing.

Re: “Missouri Rep. Mike Leara wants to make it a felony to introduce gun control legislation

Can we make it a felony to propose making legislation that makes proposing legislation a felony? That'd be defending the First in the same manner in which Rep. Leara intends to defend the Second. Or something.

I have now confused myself. Carry on.

It's a bad sign when your blog's (I'm intentionally not using the word "news site" here) comments are more interesting and accurate than the actual blog posts.

"This connection between black culture with violence in Westport in the early 00's (and more importantly, it's expulsion from the area with the peace and 'maturity' of predominately white gentrification) is disgusting."

Welcome to The Pitch, friend!

Pot stirrer?
That's Clay Chastain.
Bless him - the pot needs to be stirred.
I'm a little afraid of the soup.
