Since 2000, Moon Marble Co. (600 East Front Street, Bonner Springs, 913-441-1432), has hosted
Marble Crazy, a contemporary art-glass show that draws about 2,000 enthusiasts a year. "With antique marbles, I guess it is more like a hobby," says MMC co-owner Lynda Sproules. "But with contemporary marbles, it is definitely an art. Most visitors to the show have an appreciation for the art of working with glass." This year, the show features more than 20 artists and four demonstration areas, with a reproduction marble machine from 1905 and a furnace-working area.
